Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Lily Hoefler; sisters, Myra “Pete” Morgan and Mary Dickson; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 25 years, Henry T. Close; sons, Paul Sligh (Heather), John Sligh (Lisa), Bill Sligh (Marie), stepsons, Dr. David Close (Susan) and Rob Close-Kung (Edna); stepdaughters, Cathleen Close, Karen Perz (John) and Linda Close; sisters, Sharon Jones and Debbie Shultz (Tom); fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as numerous family members and friends.
