Imogene “Jean” Overcash Wright, age 93, of Winston, Georgia left her Earthly home and walked into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 11, 2023. She was born in Carroll County, Georgia on July 26, 1929 to the late Harvey E. Overcash and Lily Mae Duke Overcash. Her family and church family were her life and her biggest love. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and served as a Food Service Manager for the Douglas County School System for many years until her retirement. A sophisticated lady; she always took pride in her appearance and kept an immaculate house. She was a longtime member of Ephesus Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George L. Wright; her daughter, Tami Payne; and stepsons, Lee Wright and Buster Wright.
Left to cherish her memory are granddaughters, Christy Frith and Jenny Woods (Chris); great-grandchildren, Charlie Frith, Katie Frith, Jackson Woods, Carter Woods and Cole Woods; and her caregivers, Barry Payne and Barbara Payne. There are also many nieces and nephews, as well as treasured friends of her church Lifegroup, the Daughters of the King, of which she was a faithful member.
The family will receive visitors at Ephesus Baptist Church on March 13, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church on March 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM with the Pastor, Dr. Billy Godwin, officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
