

Mr. James Marlin Stogner of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 73. James was born to parents Hershel and Minnie Stogner on February 26, 1943. He graduated from the University of Georgia, served in the United States Army Infantry and then proudly served the City of Atlanta for over 40 years, rising to become the Deputy General Manager for the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, a position he served in for almost two decades. His responsibilities included Operations, Safety and Maintenance at the world’s busiest airport. It was a job he truly loved and was immensely proud to do. His other great passion was reading anything he could get his hands on, especially military history.
James is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia Morone Stogner; his son, Shannon and his wife Christine with their daughters, Catherine and Alison; his son, Shane and his wife Vivian with their two daughters, Gabriella and Catalina; and six sons, Nicholas, Patrick, Max, Paul, John, and Peter. He is also survived by his twin brother, Richard, his wife Donna, and their daughter, Ashley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Minnie Stogner; and his older brother, H. R. Stogner.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel.
