John Lee “John L.” Gore, age 74, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023. A native of Douglas County, John L. was born August 18, 1949 in Douglasville and was a 1968 graduate of Douglas County High School. He retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Atlanta after 35 years as an electrician maintenance employee. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John L. was a gun collector and enjoyed working on cars. An avid John Wayne fan, he also enjoyed watching Westerns. He attended County Line Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Lee and Alma Lucille Gore; and a brother, Robert Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Brenda Ann Gore; children, Tammy (Tony) McDowell, Becky Gore, and Matt (Cristen) Gore; grandchildren, Johnathan (Lauren) Bearden, Shaye (Brett) Hall, Sierra (Cody) Wiley, and Colin Gore; great-grandchildren, Ellie Bearden, Hannah Bearden and Camryn Hall; as well as numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 31, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at County Line Baptist Church.
