Mary Alice Hunter

Mary Alice Hunter, 82, of Winston, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born in Austell, Georgia on July 26, 1942, the daughter of the late Mr. Albert Jerkins and Mrs. Mavoureen Mozley Jerkins.

Mary Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She had a heart for bringing joy to others. She loved sending thoughtful cards, often including her beautiful coloring artwork, to brighten the days of friends and loved ones. Her compassionate nature shined at The Oaks, where she had a special gift for lifting the spirits of those around her. Mary Alice cherished time with her family and deeply loved her grand dogs, always enjoying their company. Her kindness and warmth made every day a little brighter for those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Mr. Dewey Hunter; sister, Ruth Reid; brothers-in-law, Wilbur Reid, Hubert Garner, and Bob Holland; and her son-in-law, Eddie Houghton.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lisa Houghton; brother, Neil Jerkins; sisters, Judy Garner and Susan Holland.

The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 12:00PM-2:00PM.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home Chapel with Joel Gibbs officiating.
