

She was born on March 10, 1938, in Calhoun County, Alabama, to the late Homer Lester and Mary Nicholson Lester.
Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Walker; her daughter, Kim Watry; and her siblings Darlene Cobb, Marie Tiller, Linda Teal, and Donna Davis.
She graduated from the University of West Georgia with her bachelor’s degree in accounting. Anne worked as an accountant in the retail industry at O’Neal Clothing for many years.
She was a woman of many talents and passions. Anne loved quilting, gardening, tracing her ancestry, and cooking for those she cherished. She always made sure her deer on her property were fed, and she loved watching them. Creative and determined, she even built her own computer—an accomplishment she was proud of. She was also a faithful Christian and served as President of the Southeast Chapter of the Elvis Fan Club, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Anne leaves behind her loving children: Jeff Salvo (Sheila); and Forrest Walker (Jan) .
She is also survived by her brother, Steve Lester (Cathy).
She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and was blessed with seven great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel.
Anne will be laid to rest at Rosehaven Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks everyone to donate to ASPCA or a charity of their choice.
Mary Anne Walker will be remembered for her strength, creativity, deep love for her family, and unwavering faith. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
