

Mr. Michael “Mickey” Aaron Johnston, age 58, of Winston, GA passed away Friday, January 10, 2020. He was born July 29, 1961 in Pontiac, MI. He thoroughly enjoyed riding dirt bikes and listening music; whether it was live or in the garage. He always enjoyed having a nice day on the back porch with his wife, Deb, and spending time with his granddaughter, Bella. With his unique outlook on life, Mickey always looked at things on the bright side. Mickey was friends with everyone. He was involved with his religious group, Walk to Emmaus, and was an advocate for ALS awareness. He was able to touch so many lives by establishing the Shy-Dye Love Ministry. He sent tye-dye shirts to over 750 people who live with ALS all over the world. He also sent a shirt to President Jimmy Carter, who in turn wrote him a letter of gratitude.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Johnston, Jr.
Mickey is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah; their two daughters, Amanda Michelle Johnston and Allison Morgan Bailey and son-in-law, Bo Bailey; his mother and step-father June and Harold Hall; his brothers and step-brother, Adam and Jim Johnston, Steve Hall; his sisters, Dawn Johnston and Amber Rockwell; and his granddaughter Isabella Letourneau.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 1:00 pm officiated by Adam Roberts. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
