Robert Brent Henslee

Mr. Robert Brent Henslee was born in Atlanta October 28, 1969. He went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2014 after succumbing to injuries from a fall. Brent was lead to the Lord by his grandmother, Ann Henslee, and baptized by Reverend Ron Long at Glenwood Hills Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA.

Brent was an outstanding student and athlete at Mount Vernon Christian School in Stockbridge, GA where he excelled in academics, baseball, basketball and football, winning academic awards and being chosen the 1988 Henry County Athlete of the Year.

Brent graduated Cum Laude from Oglethorpe University in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Computer Science where he was first in his class. He was a member of Beta Omicron Sigma. After graduation Brent continued his education with advanced computer classes at Georgia Tech.

He was employed at the State of Georgia in various positions working last at the Employees Retirement System. He received awards and recognition for his work from the Governor and Secretary of State as well as numerous other awards.

Brent is survived by his parents, Roger and Linda Henslee; a brother, Roger Henslee, Jr. and wife Sung-hee; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Glen Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church Cemetery.
