

Mrs. Tanita LaShawn Jordan McCollum of Winston, GA, age 45, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, “Scandal” fan, enjoyed arts and crafts, R&B music, singing and spending time with family and friends. She started her career with Fulton County Department Services in August 2001. Throughout her tenure she was promoted up the ranks through Communications Training Officer / Corporal, where she was responsible for training new hires. She was awarded Telecommunicator of the year in 2016, during National Telecommunicators Week. After her employment with Fulton County 911, Tanita worked for One Path. There she served as Service / Delivery Procurement Specialist, where she assisted with scheduling field technicians to their respective sites to perform their duties. Tanita was also was co-owner of Tasty Treats Bakery, which was founded in Atlanta, GA in 2005. Although Tanita blossomed personally and professionally, it was her spiritual development that had the most impact in her life. On April 11, 1998 Tanita was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and devoted her life to helping people of all religions, languages, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds to understand our creator, Jehovah God.
Tanita is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan McCollum, and her daughter, Naitasia Aleyse McCollum.
She is survived by her father, Steven Jordan; mother, Sheila Sumrell-Washington; step-father Brian Washington; sons, Domonique McCollum and Calente McCollum; brothers, David Hart, Jr. and Jonathan Hart as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2090 Midway Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135, at 2 o’clock pm.
