Gary Evans Jones

Gary Evans Jones, affectionately known as Daddy, Dad, Pop, Grandpa, Uncle and Mr. Gary, was born on September 18, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, to Gertrude Settles and Herbert Jones; both of whom preceded him in death. He shared a very close relationship with his stepfather, Raymond Adams. He was the 3rd child of six; Herbert, Earl, Pierce, Rita and Winnie; Earl, Pierce and Winnie all preceded him in death. Gary was raised and attended school in Lebanon, Ohio. While in Lebanon, he worked for Armco Steel Company.

Gary met and married Phillis Bogie and to this union, one daughter, Tanya was born. He later married Betty with whom he fathered one daughter, Christie, and became step-father to Larry Gene and Marcus. Until his passing, he was married to Janice Strickland-Jones and was step-father to Lynnea Patrice, Kevin, Marty, Denah and Shawn (who preceded him in death).

He moved to California at a young age where he pursued a future as an apprentice in the Printing Business, which turned into a 40-year career. He retired in 2007 from Dunn Brothers Commercial Printing Company.

Gary loved spending time with his family, listening to Jazz music, shooting pool, watching sports and playing the Lottery!

Gary is survived by his wife, Janice; daughters, Tanya and Christie; brother, Herbert; sister, Rita; step-children, Larry, Marc, Lynnea, Kevin, Marty and Denah; grandchildren, Jerrell, John, Tamara, Larry, John, LaToya, Christopher, Joseph, Ryan, Ericca, Elainna, Jason, Laurin, Britney, Kayli, Keanna, Misti, Jade, Xavier, Ashtin, Shane and Dexter; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
