Barbara Stanton

Born on October 19, 1937 the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie(Berille)Lombardo. On July 7, 1964 she married Thomas Stanton, he survives.

She was a graduate of DuBois High School class of 1955, member of St Catherine’s of Siena Roman Catholic Church, was employed by Rockwell Manufacturing Company and was a cake maker for Dairy Queen for 18 years.

Barbara was a cancer survivor and helped raise money for cancer; she enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas Stanton, two sons: Thomas D. Stanton of Hazen and Joseph Stanton of DuBois, two step children: Samuel Stanton of WV and Linda(Earl) Moore of FL, three grandchildren, four step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; also survived by two sisters: Mary Clouser of DuBois and Virginia Licursi of Cleveland, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous aunts and uncles.

At the wishes of Mrs. Stanton there will be no public viewing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Catherine’s of Siena Roman Catholic Church, with Msgr Richard Siefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to Hahne Cancer Center, St Catherine’s of Siena Roman Catholic Church or to Christ the King Manor.
