Janet Watson

Born on September 18, 1921, in DuBois a daughter of the late Alvin and Pauline (Sink) Hutchinson.

Janet graduated from DuBois High School Class of 1939 and Bradford School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

She married Robert Watson on October 25, 1952 at First United Presbyterian in DuBois.

After graduation, Janet served the Army Reserves as a 1st Lt from 1943-1946. Janet worked in many locations in hospitals and nursing homes and also a private care nurse. She retired from DuBois Nursing Home as a Shift Supervisor.

Bob and Janet moved often living in St. College, Johnstown, Perry, NY and finally Clearfield with their three Daughters.

Janet was a member, Elder and Deacon at the Presbyterian Church in Clearfield.

She was very active in the Red Cross and AIDS Taskforce. Since 1976, she participated in the Nurses’ Health Study which resulted in numerous findings on women’s health care.

She is survived by 2 daughters Kathleen Scott of DuBois and Kristine (Douglas) Hileman of Quarryville; six grandchildren: Robert and Alycia Scott, Martin and Jani Hileman, Henry and Melissa Evans; a sister Margaret Cable of Woodland Park, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Collen Evans.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., DuBois, with Rev. Douglas Hileman officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Friends will be received on Sunday, December 16, from 2:00PM until 500PM at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. An additional hour of viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00AM until the hour of Service.
