Kenneth M. Chittester

Mr. Chittester was born September 16, 1918 in Falls Creek, the son of Arthur and Lottie (Matthews) Chittester.

He was a graduate of the Falls Creek School class of 1936, serving as class president.

Mr. Chittester was founder of Chittester Refrigeration since 1943. He was a pioneer in the installation and servicing of refrigeration and air conditioning in the area.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of DuBois.

Mr. Chittester was past president of DuBois Rotary Club, he was the oldest living member of Garfield Lodge #559 F.& A.M. and was active in the Beaver Meadow Field Trial Association.

After his retirement he enjoyed hunting with his bird dogs, photography and mastering the organ and computers and most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Foster ) Chittester, having been married for over seventy years, a daughter, Karen C. Walsh and her husband Philip of West Chester, PA, three grandchildren; Kenneth Walsh and his wife Bridget, Katherine Buckley and her husband Patrick and Kimberly Dunn and her husband Joseph, six great grandchildren; Shane Walsh, Finnegan Walsh, Addison Buckley, Colin Buckley, Anya Dunn and Joseph Dunn IV, a sister, Jean Mong and her husband Alfred of Franklin ,PA, a brother William Chittester of DuBois, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chittester was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Lawrence, Robert, Thomas and Dale Chittester and two sisters; Ruth Crawford and Gladys Morrison.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., with Rev. Ron Lindahl officiating. Interment will be at Morningside Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.
