Mary Lou Peterson

Born on May 24, 1932 in Punxsytawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Weir Radaker and Hazel Katherine (Adamson) Radaker.

Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother, who especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Peterson was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Pennsylvania Women's Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and antiquing.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia and her husband David Clyde, Sr. of St. Marys. Mary Lou was "Grammy" to six grandchildren: Julie Challingsworth and her husband David of St. Marys, David Clyde, Jr. of Tipton, Ryan Snelick and her husband Russ of St. Marys, Nathan Clyde of South Park, Adrienne Clyde of St. Mary's and Erika Clyde of St. Marys. Also, she was "Grandma Pete" to thirteen Great-Grandchildren. Mrs. Peterson is survived by a sister to Florence Jean Johnson and her husband Robert Johnson, Sr. of Derry, PA; one niece, Carolyn Hancock of Kittaning; a nephew, Robert Johnson, Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Derry, PA.

She is preceded in death by her husband Frederick Peterson, whom she married on April 13, 1966 in the Presbyterian Church in DuBois and who passed away on July 10, 1981; one grandson, Aaron Joseph Clyde; one brother, Dorsey Radaker and a sister, Beatrice Radaker.

Funeral services will by held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. at 142 W. Long Avenue in DuBois with Pastor Sara Ott officiating. Interment will follow in the Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.

Friends will be received on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral chapel.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 993 Beaver Drive, DuBois, PA 15801 or to the Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, PA 15857.
