

Mr. Knarr was born August 22, 1926 in Brady Township, the son of Calvin Paul and
Vera Almeta (Coon) Knarr.
He had worked for Schneider Motors, DuBois Brewing Co., Kitchens-by-Basil, Rocky Mountain Railcar
and was a self-employed residential contractor.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater.
Mr. Knarr was fond of the outdoors, loved to camp, fish and hunt. He was also a master craftsman and wood carver.
He is survived by his wife, Leoda M. (Peterson) Knarr whom he married February 15, 1947, five children; Diane (Knarr) Maynard and her husband Ron of Brighton, CO., Randy Knarr and his wife Brenda of DuBois, Kevin Knarr and his wife Susan of Portage, PA, Sheri (Knarr) Andrews and her husband Jim of Jupiter, FL and Jody Knarr of DuBois, twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great- great grandson.
Mr. Knarr was the last member of his generation having been preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary Knarr, four brothers, Violus D., Clifton, Calvin and Wilbur Knarr, three sisters; Wanda (Knarr) Shaffer, Gwendolyn (Knarr) Benzino and Caroline (Knarr) Durkin and a granddaughter, Heather Lynn Himes.
Honoring Mr. Knarr’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contibutions be made to the Pennsylvania Wildlife Habitat Unlimited, P.O. Box 851, DuBois, PA 15801.
