Sara "Sally" Borland

Mrs. Borland was born April 2, 1919 in DuBois, the daughter of William and Jennie (Shaffer) Anderson.

She was a graduate of Sandy Township High School and DuBois Business College.

Mrs. Borland had been employed by Brockway Glass.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir for 35 years, was active on several church committees, was financial secretary and taught Bible School.

Mrs. Borland was a member of the DuBois Country Club, Christ the King, DuBois Nursing Home and DuBois Hospital Auxillaries, and delivered Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by three children: Gary Anderson and his wife Nancy D. of Butler, Gail Broniszewski and her husband Walter of North Tonawanda, NY and Brenda Saricks and her husband Joseph of DuBois, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Borland was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Lester Anderson, her second husband, James “Hobe” Borland, four brothers; William, James, Eugene and Albert Anderson and two sisters; Agnes Cramer and Gladys Sterrett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. DuBois with Pastor Kelly Schanely and Rev. Vic Baxter co-officiating. Interment will be at Morningside Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Monday from 10 AM until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Denton Ave. DuBois, PA 15801, DuBois Public Library or Penn Highlands Heart Center.
