

Deborah (Debbie) Lambert Boyer died at 1:11 a.m. on her birthday February 24, 2024 at Kobacker House after a very long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Debbie was a graduate of the Upper Arlington class of 1979, attended The Ohio State University, 28-year employee of Nationwide Insurance Company, and her favorite position, a very loving mother to son Stephen. (BEST SON EVER)
She was preceded in death by her courageous and loving husband, Army Veteran Jeff Boyer, in 2021; father Larry Lambert; grandparents Betty and Dale Lambert and Ida and Delno Shicks. Debbie is survived by her son, Stephen Lambert; mother, Jane Gross; stepmother, Brigitta Lambert; brothers, David Lambert, Michael Gross (Andrea); nieces, Georgia and Margo Gross; classmate and “bestie” friend, Debbie Shumaker, plus all of her Nationwide Family in Columbus and Iowa.
Debbie enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially baking. She loved travel and vacations at the beach, karaoke with friends and family. She loved anything involving water with friends, boating at Buckeye Lake, collecting shells with Stephen. She loved her pets – Petie, a parakeet; Sophie, her white, furry Maltese; and Jeff’s Shepherd, Thor. She loved concerts and periodically redecorating, which always spilled over to wanting to help Stephen redecorate.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017 with Reverend Greg Menssen officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in Debbie’s honor to the Kobacker House Volunteer Final Wishes Fund program, the Kobacker House Volunteer Therapy Dog Program, c/o OhioHealth Hospice, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214 or the Wounded Warrior Program.
The family will greet friends at a reception immediately following the service.
