Born and raised in Dublin, Ohio, Drew graduated from Dublin Jerome High School and was a senior at Miami University, where he was studying Computer Science. His passion for programming reflected the way he approached life — with curiosity, creativity, and a drive to build and make things better.
Drew was happiest when surrounded by family, especially during holidays and summers at Lake Erie, where he loved the peace of the water and the laughter that filled those days. He had a sharp wit, a kind heart, and an easy smile that made those around him feel valued and accepted.
He is survived by his parents, Scott and Emily Ottenweller; his brother, Jake; his sister, Abby; and grandparents Kevin and Anne Murray, and Patricia and Roger Johnson. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A visitation will be held at Schoedinger Dublin, located at 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, on October 15, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. where family and friends will come together to honor the beautiful life Drew lived and the light he brought to everyone who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 16, 2025, from at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, followed immediately by burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center. OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to organizations supporting suicide awareness and prevention, including Hope for the Day (hftd.org) and the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (ohiospf.org), in Drew’s honor.
