Jane was born on March 2, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Small) Raedel. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1955 then attended Penn Hall Junior College for Women and Ohio University where she studied fashion merchandising. Jane and Jack married in 1960 and lived in both Columbus and Lancaster, Ohio before settling in Dublin, Ohio in 1979 where she spent the rest of her days.
Jane, a lifelong Republican, worked with her dear friend Jim Baker at Baker Enterprises managing the logistics of many major Republican events including National Republican conventions, Inaugurations of several Republican presidents, Republican Governors’ Association meetings, and National Federation of Republican Women meetings.
Jane’s greatest joy was her family: son Ben Turner (Elizabeth Kaufman), daughter Elizabeth Rychcik (Carl), her grandchildren: Hallie and Eliza Turner and Kaitlyn and Connor Rychcik, her sister Liz Lindsay, nieces Kate Kelch, Sarah Behrens, Kathy Arnold, and nephew Steve Kelch and several grand nieces and nephews.
To say Jane was an extrovert would be an understatement. She had so many cherished friends especially the “Birthday Girls,” her bridge group, her “Dublin friends,” her “Lancaster friends” and the “Culture Vultures.” Jane was adept at bringing people together as is evidenced by the many times her “Lancaster friends” and her “Dublin friends” would get together (usually with wine). Up until her fight with cancer, she could be found enjoying book club, bridge club, attending the Culture Vulture events and lunching (usually with wine) with the many friends she made throughout her life.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio for the great care they provided in Jane’s final days.
