He graduated from Nelsonville-York High School then with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University.
Harold was a devoted and loving father and husband and a faithful Christian. He enjoyed helping family and friends and especially regaling everyone with stories. He was patient with his daughters learning to play instruments and rarely missed a performance or sporting event of theirs or any of the grandchildren.
As an engineer for Armco Steel for 30 years, he worked on environmental remediations all over the country. His love of engineering and project management was seen not only at work. Harold gladly put his woodworking skills to work for friends and family and managed many projects for the church.
Starting with road trips with his parents then with his children to visit family regularly, Harold loved to travel. He journeyed to many places in the U.S. with work and began expanding abroad with a trip to Mexico and Europe with Kathie and his girls. He and Janet then traveled to all seven continents and he got to all 50 states. His favorite overseas trips were to Australia and Tanzania. He and Janet shared their love of exploring with their grandchildren on a spectacular two week African safari.
Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn B. (McKee) McCune, second wife, Janet S. (Beeghly/McCrabb) McCune and his sister, Beatrice Mealick.
