

Born on July 8, 1931, to Jensaku and Shizuyo Nakamura. She truly “never met a stranger,” and her welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Hisae dedicated part of her working years to the Columbus Division of Police as an Administrative Clerk and Sears Department Store in the Catalog Department. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist Congregation.
She found great joy in cooking and entertaining family and friends, often bringing people together around her table. Hisae also loved sewing, dancing, and spending time visiting weekly with friends over a cup of coffee.
Hisae was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lucas; her parents; and her six siblings.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Betty (Stephen) Schwab and Lisa (Christopher) Axene; her four grandchildren, Christine (David) Zorn, Laura Messerly, Stephanie Schwab, and Nicholas Axene; and her great-grandchildren, Carson and Addison Zorn. She is also survived by her longtime dear friend, Gary Riley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance starting at 11:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Care 360 Hospice.
