Kathy Marie Alfriend

Kathy Marie Alfriend, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandma, and friend peacefully passed away on February 29, 2024, in Columbus Ohio. Kathy was born on August 15, 1956, in Columbiana, Ohio, to William and Alice Smith.

Kathy's achievements were measured in the hearts she touched. Known for her caring nature, she actively epitomized the spirit of faith and selflessness. Her favorite memories were made in the simple acts of giving and nurturing, embodying the essence of kindness for her friends, family, and those she loved most. Kathy lived for life’s most simple moments with her family, friends, and those at Shamrock Family Eye Care where she worked for the previous decade.

Kathy is survived by her devoted children: Brandon (Lisa), Travis (Bre), Tyler (Carli), and Erik Alfriend; Kathy also leaves behind a cherished legacy of grandchildren: Oslo (6), Kellen (4), Luka (3), Addyson (2), and Vincent (1) Alfriend. She is also remembered by her village of friends and brothers, Karl and Brad Smith, as well as her nieces and nephews: Mike Smith, Missy Duvall, and Zak Smith. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents William and Alice Smith and her brothers Alan and Billy Smith.

A memorial service will be held for Kathy at Schoedinger Dublin (5980 Perimeter Drive) on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. The service will be followed by a celebration of life, offering friends and family an opportunity to share memories over drinks and hors d'oeuvres just as Kathy requested.

Kathy Marie Alfriend will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. May she rest in eternal peace in Heaven.
