Carmen was born in Manresa (Catalunya, Spain) in 1926. Her parents were Julio Lopez and Carmen Alfos. The family moved to Barbastro (Aragon, Spain), where she lived during the Spanish Civil War. She married Antonio Barluenga Barluenga and moved to Barcelona in 1945, where she lived until moving to Columbus, Ohio to live with her daughter Jenny.
Preceded in death by her husband, her sister Pilar, brothers Luis and Julio, as well as her son Julio Antonio Barluenga Lopez. She is survived by her daughter Maria Eugenia (Jenny) MacQueen and son-in-law Colin MacQueen, as well as her grandson Julio Barluenga Paraiso.
As an alternative to flowers, the family suggests a donation in her memory (in any amount) to the Kobacker House, in recognition of the kindness and care they provided Carmen in her final days.

Her good humor, love of animals, chocolate and children will be remembered with affection by all who knew her.
