Another year has slipped away. My wife and I were talking yesterday about a musician who lost all his equipment in the California wildfires and I mentioned how devastated I would be if I lost my first electric guitar. Not because it's worth a bundle but because of all the memories it brings back. Then a memory of jamming with you on so many weekends popped into my head and I smiled. Still missing you, Monty...

It's been a year since you left, my friend. I thought of you again today, imagining the music you're making in Heaven. Keep rockin', Monty!

I knew Monty at Valley View  High School. I graduated one year before he did. We had a lot of fun in Select Choir and study hall. When our choir director was late, Monty and two other guys would make a tower of the band room chairs.  A picture of this hilarious activity appears in the VV  yearbook,  and I smile when I look at it. He was a very talented musician and also mastered our 1978 sound board with almost no instruction.
He was a great guy and I am so sorry and I send prayers to his family.


I had the pleasure of working with Monty for nearly 6 years.  On my second day of work, he tasked me with a small project, stating "I can tell you're responsible."  

He became a friend, confidante, and ally.  Sometimes, he’d nod his head.  Sometimes, he’d provide constructive criticism.  Sometimes, he’d disagree.  But he’d always listen.

I learned Monty liked growing hot peppers.  As a spicy food fanatic myself, I asked him about his garden.  His eyes lit up, and he was so passionate in telling me about it.  I recently found a post-it note with the words: infinity, dragon’s breath, fatali, reaper, and naga morich.  It took me a minute to figure out what it meant, but I realized it was the contents of a jar of dried peppers Monty had given to me.  I will use them sparingly and think of him when I do.  

After seeing so many photos and attending his service, I have learned a lot about him that I didn't know.  I wish I could have another conversation with him, but I will treasure the memories.

I went to school with Monty. Our senior year I was singing a solo in front of the school. I wasn't popular. When I walked out to do my solo, people were laughing at me, making fun of me. Monty was doing the sound. He told me not to pay attention to them and focus on him while I was singing. I've never forgotten that. He passed away on my birthday. Rest in peace Monty. 

I had the pleasure of working with Monty over the past two years as he was a valuable team member of the Buckeye Automotive Group.  What I enjoyed most about Monty was his passion and positivity.  He was always smiling and laughing and will be greatly missed.  I offer my deepest condolences during this difficult time.  

Monty was a special member of our Buckeye family. His intelligence and  genuine caring for our team members and customers brought so much to our company, but what I will remember most about Monty is his laugh. It would start out as a little chuckle, almost seeming like he was trying to hold it in, but unable to hold it in, the laughter would then burst out of him in a yelp of authentic joy. It was infectious. Monty will be greatly missed.

Monty and I were classmates, band members, and friends from about 6th grade.  We had many great times throughout our years together at Valley View.  Too many memories to list here, but all were good and many were hilarious.  He had a divine gift for guitar.  And was gifted with enough patience to teach me, a drummer with no attention span, the intro to "Stairway to Heaven".  I have always considered him a dear friend, even though we didn't get a chance to talk in many years.  I was blessed to have known him.
I send my prayers for peace to his entire family.  God bless you all. 
He will be missed.

Monty was an easy-going, always smiling, entertaining part of our dorm life in Shepard at Northwestern.  Took away the pressures of hard studying as we all jammed in to dance to the music of “The Guys.”  Best dorm band of the 80’s!  Jam away Monty!

Prayers and condolences to Monty's family.  I have fond memories of singing with Monty in the Valley View Select Choir as well as weekends spent jamming with him and a few other friends.  RIP, my friend.

I am deeply saddened today to hear of Monty's passing.  I have worked with Monty for the past 1-1/2 years  (virtually, as one of the Buckeye Automotive vendors)  and I always looked forward to our website  calls.  We would discuss, of course, business goals, strategies,  the crazy car business, but we always had a few minutes to talk about vacations, current events, or whatever!  Monty was a real pleasure to work with, no matter how much was going on he always had a smile and a personable way about him.  He will be missed for sure!

A wonderful walk through the Muir Woods Park. Laughing and sharing stories with our dear friend. Moments cherished and a time to remember. What a selfless, wonderful person.

I had the privilege to work with Monty for 7 years and there are so many memories I could share. One memory I will never forget is when I first started at Buckeye, I would file paperwork upstairs and there was a time I had opened 3 cabinets at once causing it to fall over and pin me against the wall. Monty was there in seconds to help pull it off of me. I will always remember Monty as someone who kept lifted spirits at the dealership; if you had any technology issues, he was ON IT and showed you how to fix it as well. You may even get a life lesson with the fix but Monty shared nothing but positivity. He was the one who always started off the holidays right at Buckeye spending his weekend after Thanksgiving decorating the dealership. I'm honored I got to help him with this back in the day. You will forever be missed Monty <3



Monty was my coworker at Buckeye Nissan for 23 years.  He was such a huge help with any IT issues within the dealerships and especially with my office staff.  He always made sure we were taken care of first and always left little presents for us on the holidays. His love of making spreadsheets for everything will always stay with me, as it was a joke between us.   His work ethic, smile, infectious belly laugh, story telling, knowledge of all things music and his genuine care and concern with everyone will certainly be missed.  I could go on and on about all he did for our company and his fellow associates.  Rest easy my friend, you will  always be in our heart....



So many things I could say about Monty. He was one of my mentors at Buckeye. We used to have some really amazing conversations in the morning about work life or whatever was on our minds. I would call him and the first thing he would say “what did you break now?”He had one of the best laughs that you just knew it was him. Monty always had the most encouraging advice and always made me feel better after our conversations. He taught me so much and I will forever be grateful and carry that with me forever. I offer my condolences to the family and thank you for sharing him with us. 

When I first met Monty, he helped me get set up as one of the Sales Associates in 2011. Monty was the Mr. Fix it guy! My  desk sat very close to the (key hub) and (main printer) section. I can remember Monty looking over smiling as the faint voices would holler out, “I didn’t break it” no one ever broke the printer!

This was obviously a large haul from the young anglers.  Scott, Monty, Marty, and Lynn.  As cousins we all spent much time together as kids.  Whether in Germantown or Cincinnati we had many good times.  We were famous for our "Spook Houses" we made in either of our basements and then sent poor Lynn thru.  Monty's artistic side came shinning through early.  He was also quick with a new joke when we got together.  I took my cousins to their first "KISS" concert in Cincy.  So many memories. God Bless my cousin.

A couple of old pictures from our childhoods.  Not many people have a boat named after them but my sister Lynn, Marty, Monty, and me, Scott (MARLYN MONSCO) do.  Our "Grannies" boat which she named after us.  Good times and memories from fishing, camping and boating trips as kids.  

Everyday will be a reminder of how amazing Monty has been to his Buckeye family. His selflessness, intelligence, innovation, positive outlook, tireless work ethic, honesty, integrity, kindness, dependability. Those are just a few qualities why Monty is loved by his co-workers. We will miss his physical presence. We will never forget him. We will miss him. He was an amazing person!!
