Loving wife and mother Pamela Ann Perry (Pam), age 78, of Dublin, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on February 27th, 2024. She was born on September 15th, 1945, in Huntington, Indiana, where she grew up and graduated from Huntington High School. Pam earned her Associate Degree from the International Business College, which led to her first job as a secretary at Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio. She first met her future husband Dan via the original “Uber” – a rideshare bulletin board posted in the office breakroom. After a few trips back and forth between Indiana and Findlay, Pam said “yes” to Dan and they were married on November 13th, 1965. They made Findlay, Ohio, their home where they raised their children, Angie and Jim.
Pam was an active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Findlay and served as the church secretary for most of her career. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed TV shows like “Murder She Wrote” and “Columbo.” She looked forward to the annual Perry family summer vacation to the beaches of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, along with longtime family friends the Fixes and Busdekers. Once Pam became a grandma, that annual trip became even more special to her as it was an opportunity for more time with the grandchildren. Beyond the beaches of North Carolina, Pam enjoyed many global travels with husband Dan, including the U.K., Ireland, Greece, Italy, Germany, and New Zealand, among many other countries and cruises.
After 40+ years in Findlay, Dan and Pam relocated to Dublin, Ohio, to be closer to Angie, Jim, and the grandchildren. Being close allowed Pam to attend many sporting events, horse shows, recitals, and musicals as her grandchildren pursued their individual interests. She always had an encouraging word for them every step of the way and always asked, “Do you know how much I love you?” Pam especially loved weekly Sunday night family dinners where she got to hear all about what everyone was up to and she often took this opportunity to remind us of proper table etiquette with the phrase “napkin, not shirt!” This is also the time that Dan and Pam joined Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where Pam volunteered in the church office.
Pam is survived by Dan, her husband of 58 years; daughter Angela Gowans (Eric); son James Perry (Christine); grandchildren Joshua Gowans, Daniel Gowans, Abigail Gowans, Katherine Perry Garrett (Robert), Tessa Perry; brother Phil Goble; and nieces/nephews Cassandra (Rebber) Vondran, Heidi (Goble) McCoy, Heather (Goble) Clark, John Goble.
She is preceded in death by her father John Phillip Goble and mother Lydia Grace (Brown) Goble.
Thank you to our friends and family for your prayers, words of encouragement, and acts of kindness over the last few weeks and months. While we will not be able to adequately express our appreciation to each of you individually, please know that you have been a blessing to our family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any offering of gifts be made to either:
