Teresa Bauer, of Hilliard, aged 96, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Teresa (Tessie) was born on September 9,1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Leo and Mary Kanzleiter. Tessie was married for 65 wonderful years to Ed Bauer, who passed in 2016. Tessie was also preceded in death by her brothers John and Ralph, as well as her sisters Marion, Bernie and Ruth. Tessie is survived by her five children: Marty of Scottsdale, AZ, Tom (Christie) of Solana Beach, CA, Janis (Jim Davidson) of Dublin, OH, LeAnn (Mike McCord) of Cincinnati, OH, and Nancy (Mark Wallar) of Dublin. In addition, Tessie was blessed with ten grandchildren: Jeffrey, Allison and Kara (Brandon) Bauer; Lauren, Robbie (Ally) and Andrea (Matt) Davidson; Jennifer (Joey Hickey) and Andrew (Kayla) McCord; and Eddie and Eric Wallar and four great-grandchildren: River and Crew McCord and Cameron and Taylor Hickey.
Tessie was a beloved, cherished and full-time homemaker. She lived a rich and full life of selflessness, always putting others first. She was always there to provide a meal, a helping hand or an ear to listen. Her home was a gathering place for all and consistently included great food, vibrant conversation and laughter.
When her family was young, Tessie volunteered in the school cafeteria at St. Anthony’s Church and helped support the clothing drive. Food was her special gift to others, and no family member, friend or other guest left her home hungry. Aside from her unconditional and uncompromising commitment to family, Tessie was dedicated to her faith. She was a long-time member of St. Brendan’s Parish, and a regular attendant at daily Mass. She was also a great lover of animals and, in recent years, her cock-a-poo Coco, was a great source of companionship.
Tessie’s family will receive friends on November 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio. The Mass is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ASPCA.
