On October 23, 1976, Bill married the love of his life, Kathy (Rugen). Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. He spent many of his working years in food and facilities management, and later in his career found great joy traveling the world, teaching sales and management training, connecting with people everywhere he went.
Anyone who knew Bill knew his passions. He was a devoted Disney fan, visiting Walt Disney World more than 50 times and always making time for his favorite character, Donald Duck. He was a loyal Columbus Blue Jackets supporter and found joy on jazz cruises, where music, travel, and friendships blended into some of his happiest memories.
Bill’s great pride, though, was his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children Chris (Jessica) and Doug (Carrie); and his grandchildren, Logan and Claire, who brought endless joy to his life. He also leaves behind siblings Gina, Tom (Judy), Pam (Jim), Fred (Mary Duke), and Patrick, along with many nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Bill.
More than anything, Bill will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and devotion to the people he loved. His passions brought color and energy to his days, but it was his generous heart and steady presence that left the greatest mark on everyone who knew him.
