Betty J. Holmes

She was born July 10, 1930 in East Grand Forks, MN.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents William and Delia Coverston; brothers Earl, John and Ray Coverston; and sister, Frances Lawonn.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, the Reverend Gerald Holmes; daughters, Kathy (Steven) Rudh, Tammy (David) Paulson; son, Paul; grandchildren, Nathan Paulson, Nicole (Samuel) Lewis; great grandchildren, Lindsay, Jackson and Maxwell Lewis; and sister, Alice (Bill) Sauer.

Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Jean was a true saint. She loved her family and her church family. Her faith in Christ was her strength and hope.

Many thanks to Dr. Timothy Kleinschmidt and the staff in the ICU and 6 West at St. Luke’s Hospital and the Benedictine Health Care Center, Pastor David Mork and her dear friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church, and to her dear neighbors who gave Jean support and encouragement for many years.

Pastor David Mork will be officiating a Service of Remembrance on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. with a Visitation one hour prior at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1505 Eklund Ave, in Duluth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Samaritan’s Purse - International Relief.
