

He was born to Fred and Emma (Swanstrom) Knight March 27, 1930.
Bill graduated from Duluth Central in 1948 and from UMD in 1952, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War, stationed in Charleston, S.C. as Secretary to the Admiral.
Bill worked at the Proctor National Bank for three years. He taught at Proctor High School for 30 years. In retirement Janice and Bill went to Florida for 15 years where Bill taught an exercise class.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Louise Cosgriff; brother, Fred W. Knight; and nephew, Fred Cosgriff.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice; four sons: Gary, James (Patty), Paul (Bonnie), and Dan (Marnie); nine grandsons: Kris (Kim), Todd (Heather), Matt (Abby), Andy (Shawna), Adam (Jenna), Timothy, Daniel, Jonny, and Jordan; Three granddaughters: Katie (Luke) Erickson, Kristen, and Johanna; Three step grandchildren: Ebony, Dezyrae, and Marcus; and 24 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Funeral Service, Friday, May 27, 2016 in Faith Baptist Church, Hermantown. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth.
