Dixie Louise Elde

She was born in 1935 to Lyle and Elinore Laney in Park Falls, WI. Dixie attended Proctor Schools and graduated in 1953. On February 6, 1953 she married Ronald Elde in Carlton County, MN. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage in February 2013.

Dixie was a loving person who continued to give until her last breath was taken. She was an active member for over 70 years and served in all capacities at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Proctor. She was a little league coach, Cub Scout leader, on the first committee of PAWS (Proctor Area Winter Sports) and worked for many years at Elde’s General Store. In Dixie’s downtime, her and Ron loved to attend auctions and spend time together at their cabin on Big Sandy Lake in McGregor, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Roy Lindberg.

Dixie is survived by her husband Ronald Elde; her children Greg Elde, Debra (Eric) Madson, and Candi (Les) Reed; sister, Sharon Lindberg; brother, Bob (Kerry) Laney; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 614 2nd St, Proctor, and again at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7. Service will be Tuesday May 7, 2013 at 11 a.m., also at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Entombment at Sunrise Memorial Park and Cemetery.
