

Fritz was born on June 7, 1930 to Esther and Thure Kolquist in Duluth. He was a life-long resident, spending several winters in Florida after his retirement.
Fritz attended school in Duluth and was a life-long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was in the Air Force for four years and was a former co-owner of Harbor City Oil Company, along with his brothers.
Fritz was united in marriage to Patricia Berg in 1952 and together they raised three children.
In the past, Fritz enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf but his greatest joy, after obtaining his Private Pilot License, was flying.
Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Kenneth and Clarence; and sisters, Ann and Florence.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Cynthia (Paul) Olejar, Mark (Ruth) Kolquist, Beth (James) Chlipala; grandchildren: Amanda (Myca) Arbic, Kasie (Derek) Ceglowski, Whitney Kolquist, Michael, David, and Paige Chlipala, Lily Olejar; five great grandchildren; brothers, Wallace (Caryl) Kolquist, Clifford (Audrey) Kolquist, Roger (Barb) Kolquist; sister, Alice Engdahl; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Hospice Program and especially Dr. Paul Sanford, Dr. Timothy Kleinschmidt and Dr. Basem Goueli.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 12:30 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. Memorial Service on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 410 N Arlington Ave, in Duluth.
