Hello everyone...cant believe its almost a year. I miss him so. There is a missing part in our lives as we struggle with his absence.  Thanks to everyone for your friendship and support.  We both valued our wonderful friends so much.

Hello Everyone,
   Thank you for your warm wishes.  Doug and I cherished the wonderful people around us.  It has helped us all a long. We knew since 2008 he was terminal and squeezed every happy memory we could out of the extra time he was given through the "magic" of Rochester Mayo.  It's been quite a battle with cancer and he fought valiantly.  The struggle goes on for me but I know he is fine.  Thanks again for your thoughts and friendship.  Cheryl Carlson

I don't know you all personally, but I have heard lots of great things about my brother in laws family.  Kevin is my only brother in law and even if I had the chance to choose many more no one could take his place.  I only think that Doug, his brother, must have had the same qualities as Kevin and I would love to have meet him. (of course I will someday when God calls me home)

A death is the hardest for us to bear on earth, but just know that Doug is with many that have gone before him and he is partying and having fun and no more pain.  I say to all of you - hugs and kisses from a CT sister in law who adores her brother in law - Kevin...

Doug was my first boss as a young social worker just out of college. He taught me so much about compassion. He had an amazing sense of humor and a true gift in working with the disabled. I'm grateful to have worked for him and know that he has left a positive impression on this world.

I was saddened this morning to read of the passing of Doug.  Although I didn't know him well, he sure seemed like a great guy.  
The long struggle is now over; may Doug rest and peace and I pray you will recover from your great loss soon.

I am very sad to learn about Doug's passing. Although it had been many years since I worked with him, I ran into him on a few occasions around Duluth. He had a great sense of humor, and always brought a smile to my face.

Never knew that Doug was a Bowler.   It's sad to hear about his passing away, just after he retired from Goodwill.   I will remember him with his sense of humor he did at work and will be missed a lot at work.  He was a good man.

I knew Doug through attending Rehab meetings throughout the state over the past 30+ years. I always enjoyed his company and considered him a friend although we only saw each other now and then. The last time was at the MACRO Annual Meeting in Hinckley in August. I had no idea of Dougs situation. The news was shocking and I am very sorry to hear of it. My condolences to the family.
