Erma Erella Johnson

Erma was born in Duluth, MN, October 22, 1932, to Mary and Thomas Parker. She was united in marriage to Norman F. Johnson in 1947. They raised 8 children. Erma loved family, cabin life, traveling and enjoyed many hobbies. She also enjoyed volunteering at the senior centers and opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay. She was known for her excellent cooking and her loving heart.

In addition to raising a large family, Erma also worked at Snyder's Drug Store, Jeno's and especially enjoyed working at Chris Jensen Nursing Home. Erma and her husband were also part owners of the Avenue Market.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her companion, David Gustafson, sisters, Lois, Avis, Inez, Ivy, Betty, brothers Norman and Thomas.

She is survived by her children Allen (Laurie) Johnson, Nancy Bartek (Jan), Cathryn (Flea) Johnson-Tech, Norman (Deb) Johnson, Brian (Lyn) Johnson, Deanna (Rob) Tibbetts, Ann (Dale) Lyons, May (Dan) Overfors, 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, sister Shirley Nelson, and a large extended family and many friends.

Visitation: 11 a.m. until the 12 noon Memorial Service, Saturday July 30, 2016 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 9030 Beaudry St., Duluth.
