Frances Gail Tolan

Frances was born in Duluth on April 22, 1940 to Roy and Helmi (Salli) Maki. She attended Denfeld High School and graduated in 1958. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Tolan on June 29, 1963. She worked for Denfeld High School and Fairmont Elementary School as an administrative assistant. Later she worked for Blood Donor’s, which became Memorial Blood Center, where she retired in 2002. Gail was a lifetime member of Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Gail enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends, and spending time with her girlfriends from high school.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Frances is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Dan (Janet) Tolan of Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Lori (Derek) Baldwin of Crystal, MN; grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew and Jenna Tolan and Davis Baldwin; brother, Russell Maki of Superior, WI as well as many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N. 56th Ave. W. and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4831 Grand Ave. Memorials may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.
