George was one of my closest friends. He belonged to a group of friends that made many  fishing and camping trips. He also loved to play poker with the same group. This photo is from my last ice fishing trip we made to Lake of the Woods last winter. I know I can speak for all of us that he will be greatly missed.

I remember playing with George and Keith at their house when we were young.  I was very sorry to hear of George's death and my heart and prayers are with his family and friends.  It would be nice to reconnect with the rest of my cousins again.

My sincere condolences to George's family.  George has been a wonderful friend to my family for many years, and especially to my brother Tony and late brother Gordy Shannon.  I will miss his good sense of humor and that great laugh of his.  He was always such a kind and thoughtful person.  He will truly be missed. Bob and I would like to express our sympathy to George's family.  We haven't seen him since our first cousins reunion in 1996.  He was funny and nice to old cousins.  Although we didn't see him often he was my friend and I loved him.....

 My prayers and condolences go out to George's family and friends. We go way back to when my brother Gordy, Vince, and George all worked out at Shoppers City in West Duluth as teenagers. That's when I met him. Since I found out of his death yesterday I have been thinking over in my mind of all the good memories I have with George.  His loud laugh and humor was wonderful. The last time we fished together at Boulder Lake he caught the biggest walleye of the day about 4#s. He was the only witness to the only eagle I ever shot golfing, and he liked to tease me if it really happened at all, then laugh. He used to talk to me about his 2 kids out in Washington and cherished the times he got to spend with them when they were older. He put me up for a week when I was without a place to stay. He treated my son Luke with lots of grace and kindness throughout his whole life. He use to like to deal 7/27 at the poker games and was a great bluffer, and he knew it. I am so thankful to have him as a friend and to have spent good quality time with him in his life. God bless you my friend, Tony Shannon
