James H. Norman

James was born July 2, 1936, to Herbert and Luella Norman in Duluth, MN.

James graduated from Duluth Central High School and attended U.M.D. for two years. He married Ruth Osterlund August 6, 1959, and together they had six children. James started J.N. Contracting in 1967 and built several homes in the Duluth area. He then worked 20 years as a rural route mail carrier and retired in 2003. James was an active member of Duluth Gospel Tabernacle and worked in nursing home ministries for 40 years.

James was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel, his parents, Herbert and Luella Norman, and brother, Howard Norman.

James is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Stephen (Rose) Norman of California, Beth (Phil) Baker of Pennsylvania, Nathan (Sue) Norman, Sara (Mark) Norman, & Peter (Emily) Norman, all of Duluth; brothers, Donald (Gloria) of Aitken, MN, Paul (Sue) of Minneapolis, MN, Richard (Wanda) of Japan, and Rollin of Duluth; 16 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Monday, November 2 at the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 West Superior Street. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. Please leave a memory of James or words of support for the family at www.bellbrothersjarvidowd.com
