

Judy was born in Duluth on Nov. 20, 1942 to Lennart and Margaret (Belt) Johnson.
Judy’s true joy and focus in life was her family. She was widowed as a young woman and raised three children on her own.
She was a creative woman who enjoyed all types of art, especially ceramics.
Judy enjoyed playing cribbage and had taught many people the game.
She was also an avid reader.
Judy was employed with Senior Friends for 22 years, as a home health aide.
In October of 2008, Judy moved to Aspen Arms in Cloquet. It was while living there, that Judy began to enjoy life in a fuller way.
Judy loved animals, especially her cat, Nikki.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Frank DeFoe, Jr (Oct. 1967); son, Dion DeFoe (Jan. 1999); three brothers, John Belt, Gene Johnson and Leo Johnson; and a sister, Marie Reed.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dawn (John) Tuffield of Duluth and Alaina (John Stofner) DeFoe of Cloquet; five grandchildren, Joshua DeFoe, Leigha (Ken A.) Hashey, Lee Bos, Cody Shad, and Desirae DeFoe ; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Hashey and Jaden DeFoe, and two additional great-grandchildren expected this summer; two brothers, Len (Audrey) Johnson and Lyle Johnson; and a sister, Sandra (Robert) Brantley.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in Bell Brothers Chapel, and will continue from Noon until the 1:00 Funeral Service Thursday also in Bell Brothers Funeral Home. 601 North 56th Ave. West.
