

Bud was born in February of 1921 in Duluth to William and Ruby Schultz.
He attended and graduated from the Proctor High School in 1939 and planned on going to college but couldn’t come up with the $16.00 needed for his first semester. Bud entered the Army on November 27, 1942 and served in the South Pacific as a Private First Class. He married Clyle Sylvester December 1, 1945 in Duluth and together lived in Proctor. In 1941 Bud was employed for the DM & IR railroad as a clerk and retired in 1981 after working for 40 years.
He loved working on cars and adopted neighborhood children with his love of fishing, hunting, and camping. He was also talented in cooking and made pies for the holidays. Bud was a member of American Legion Post #106 in Proctor.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife Clyle; daughter Janet DeGolier; sister Faye Kemp; and brother Ted.
Bud is survived by daughter Carol (Ron) Schultz of Proctor; three grandchildren Kris Schultz (Matt Smith) of Athens, Georgia, Kara (Tim) Rohweder, Katie (Matt) Caines both of Proctor; four great-grandchildren, Abby, Brayden, Declan of Proctor and Camryn of Athens, GA; son-in-law, Dick DeGolier of Superior; sister-in-law, Joyce Bailey of Proctor; several nieces and nephews. Proxy grandchildren, Jessie (Derrick) Witt, Graham (Kara) Schultz, Terry (Priscilla Carlson) Schultz.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Diamond Willow in Cloquet for their excellent care.
Visitation: 10am until the 11am Funeral Service on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N. 56th Ave. W., Duluth with Reverend Linda Lundgren officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Duluth Honor Guard. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery.
