Lois Sutherland of Duluth MN passed away at home last weekend. She was 83 years old. It was her wish to stay in her home where it appears she died peacefully. In death, just as in life, she did it “her way!” Lois loved shopping, designer fashion, diamonds, collecting little treasures, and Elvis. She was as comfortable at the symphony as she was shooting a game of pool. Her love of animals led to many rescued furry family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Beatrice Sutherland; her former husband, Chet Roberts; and brother-in-law Paul Schuch.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Jane (James) Johnsen “We are eternally connected in love mother”; grandsons; Jason (Katie) Lowry “I love you grandma, thank you for making my life possible”, Richard (Amanda) Lowry “RIP grandma, we love you and will never forget you”, and Ralph (Beth) Negro; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Joanne (Bob) Protz and Carole Schuch; and several nieces and nephews. An honorable mention goes out to Jessie the watchful neighbor and to dear patient Robin at Bark Avenue.
Following Lois’s wishes, interment was at Oneota with immediate family. In celebration of Lois’s life-path, family would be honored to see any memorial offerings go in her name to Animal Allies Duluth.
