

She spent most of her young life in Aitkin and Crosby and graduated from Crosby Ironton High School. She married Albert Garlinghouse in June of 1942, they had three children. They moved from Aitkin to Duluth following World War II. Albert passed away in 1968 and she married William Miller in 1970.
She had a long and productive business life working for Duluth's Butchart Gift Shop and Bagley & Co., retiring after 21 years. She was a member of Solway Senior Citizens, and Proctor Women of the Moose #585.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, first husband Albert, second husband William, infant daughter, two brothers (Fletcher and Jerry) and two sisters (Isabel and Marjorie), her son Frederick, and one grandson, Robert Carter. Survived by her daughter Carol (Scott) Gilbertson of Isle, grandson Gregory (Kim) Carter of Sauk Rapids, grandaughter Lori Garlinghouse-Rathbun of Colorado, beloved great-grandsons Christopher Carter of Sauk Rapids, Ryan, Alex and Stephen Rathbun of Colorado, and many much-loved nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held at Bell Brothers Funeral Chapel in West Duluth at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29.
