

She was born September 18, 1926, to Malcolm and Margaret McKnight in Duluth. She resided at Primose Retirement Community for the past 8 years. Pat graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1945 and worked as a secretary for the Board of Education. She married Kenneth Kolquist on July 19, 1947. She has been a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for the past 50 years and headed the Altar Guild for 25 years along with being a member of the Mary Circle. For many years, she enjoyed bowling on a league at Skyline Lanes and also was a member of the Enger Park Ladies Golf League.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth H. Kolquist; infant granddaughter Shelby Jo Eklund; parents, Malcolm and Margaret McKnight; and her sister, Jean Olson.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Steve) Eklund, Barbara (Scott) Lipinski, Diane (Bill) Bordson, Peggy (Bill) Kivi; son, Gary (Barb) Kolquist; six grandsons, Steven (Kari) Eklund, Seth (Natalie) Eklund, Eric (Lynn) Bordson, Eron (Gretchen) Bordson, Brent Kivi and Kenny (Rikki) Kolquist; six granddaughters, Stacy (Kyle) Johnson, Sara Romagnoli, Kenzie (Ben) Morris, Amy (Tim) Doyle, Jennifer (Jason) Schultz and Katti (Brian) Dallek; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 additional due in May and June.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to Pastor Mike DeKraai for his faithful support, love and guidance during Pat’s final journey. Also, thank you to Dr. Mark Boyce and Dr. Jonathan Sande for their years of high quality professional care. In addition, a “Special Thank You” goes to Solvay Hospice House and Essentia St. Mary’s Hospice for their compassionate, loving, and dignified end of life care.
VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th St. and 1-2 p.m. Friday, March 25th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church are preferred.
