Priscilla was born on January 20, 1920 in Floodwood, MN to Goldia and Austin Tetrick. She graduated from Duluth Central High School and the University of Minnesota, Duluth, where she earned her teaching degree. She married Russell M. Burroughs, later divorced. She married Leslie Clinton Moen on June 12, 1952. They met when she took ballroom dance lessons and he was the instructor. They had a wonderful time and were graceful dancers. Priscilla taught grade school in Duluth for 3 years and continued teaching for another 29 years after they moved to the new community of Silver Bay in 1953.
They became charter members of the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay. When they retired they moved to Duluth and became members of the Glen Avon Presbyterian Church. Priscilla was a charter member of the Omicron Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa and later transferred to the Mu Chapter in Duluth. She was a very dedicated member of ADK.
Priscilla and Les loved camping, traveling throughout the country and cross-country skiing. She was very artistic and created many beautiful quilts and clothes. She also designed and assembled many beautiful stained glass items for their home as well as for family members. Priscilla volunteered for several years at St. Luke’s Hospital and the Glensheen Mansion. She also loved the challenge of a cribbage game and beat most of her opponents, even after her eye-sight was greatly diminished.
Priscilla was preceded in death by Leslie, her husband of 45 years, her parents, sisters Agnes Oakland and Julia Stycket, brother, Austin, Jr., and AF student son, Wolfgang Korff of Austria.
She is survived by her children Shanna (Richard) Olmore of Utah; Russell (Cher) of Florida, and Dr. Clinton Moen of Duluth, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren and, last of all, her faithful friend Buffy.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Ecumen Lakeshore Rehab facility for their attentive care and therapy during her recent illness.
