

Stan was born June 4, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Margaret (Schunk) and Charles Barnard. After moving to Duluth, in 1951, he grew up on Park Point and attended Central High School where he met his future wife Paulette (Gordon) Barnard whom he married in 1972. In 1985 the family moved to Proctor where the children attended Proctor High School. He enjoyed many activities including his membership with the Solway & Grand Lake VFD, the Proctor Moose, as well as many outdoor activities including fishing and time spent at The Shack. He finished his career as the LSC ARFF simulator operator, instructor, and maintenance personnel where he retired from in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles “J” Cloud, brother, Brett Barnard; step-father, Paul Olson, and father-in-law, Forrest Gordon.
Survived by wife, Paulette Barnard; children: Colleen “Gypsy” (Pete) Began, Krista (Brett) Paulick, Eric (Tammy) Barnard; grandchildren: Alex, Kyanna “Nan”, Allie “Leroy”, Dylan “Buddha”, Riley “Bubba”, Jacob “Jocko”, and Sidney “Super Sid”. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Elsbeth Gordon; sister-in-law, Alane (George) Sweezy. He will be sadly missed by his 2 four legged friends, Roger and Pee Wee. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family too numerous to mention.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, April 26, from 1-4, at the Buffalo House.
