

On January 21, 1949 Tom married Marjorie in Duluth on Park Point at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Tom served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the 125th Field Artillery and the American Legion. Tom worked for Minnesota Power for 33 years. He was an avid fan of Denfeld Volleyball and also supported his family while they played. In his earlier years, Tom enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his wife in 1985; his parents, John and Hilma; and his brothers, John “Jack”, Robert, and Berway.
Tom is survived by his son, David (Kim) Swanstrom of Duluth; daughter, Patti (John) Cournoyer of St. Paul; grandchildren, Bryan, Robert, and Stephen Swanstrom and Danny (Cheri) and Jackie Stine; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Carter, and Arick. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Norton Park United Methodist Church, 436 N 79th Ave W, Duluth. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
