Dear William, Michelle, Kristen & Families,
We are so sorry to see that Bill has passed on. He was my father's neighbor at Hunter Lake. (Herb,(Herbie) Eikanger). They kept each other in good company and a lot of laughs. We are sorry we were not able to attend services but our hearts will always embrace him. Sincerely, Joanne & Warren Chesney.

We remember Grandpa Bill and the times we talked to him. He was a kind, friendly, grandfather, who liked the Duluth Bulldogs and the Minnesota Vikings. We remember his photography skills, and also when he came to visit us in Maryland with his brother Kenny. He will be missed, and we will be praying for him. Love from Declan and Daniel

Stuart and Michelle express their sincere regrets on the passing of 'Big Bill' as he was known to our family in England. He often spoke with our parents Ted and Gill, about their common love of golf, travel, and family. We remember his love of photography, and the beautiful family photos he took for us, his outings on the pontoon boat, and his pride in serving with the Duluth Honor Guard. When Bill came to England, our Uncle Merv was so eager to meet him, as he had kept Diamond tools that he had gotten from American GIs, and wanted to share stories with Bill. They spent many hours trading their military service stories, and like others, we know he will be missed for his easy going manner, his friendships, his warmth, and his stories.

Bill Jr. and Kelly,   Sorry for your loss. Uncle Bill was such a nice guy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry for your loss Bill and family.
The hole left behind is unfillable.

Some of my best memories were with Bill. We would fly into Canada fishing every summer and had the best times around a campfire telling stories about the big one that got away. We spent time building a deer shack on Third Lake that Bill loved. Bill will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend.

Bill...I feel your loss very strongly.   You have always been my friend.   You let me live with you when I was young.  We worked together, hunted and fished together. You were in my wedding in 1966.  You helped me build my first home .  I will truly miss you Bill.  God bless you.

We extend our sympathy to Bill's family and dear friends,
 I cherish the memories we shared when Bill and I grew up together on the West side of Proctor. We did all the childhood shenanigans that two boys could do and  then some. The years and distance separated us, but once in a while a chance meeting was always a time to catch up.  
We are unable to attend, but we send our prayers and thoughts to all who will be there remembering Bill and telling great stories of life with, my friend, Bill Burros.

My deepest sympathies go out to Bill's family at this time. It did not take me long to get to know Bill and start considering him as a very important part of my life. The American Legion truly lost one of our greatest members. He was an amazing man and I will never forget our great talks. I always played "A White Sport Coat (and a pink carnation)" for him on the jukebox because I loved when he would tell me the story of how that was his exact outfit to his prom! He had so many stories to tell, I only wish I could have heard more of them. This earth was blessed to have him for the time that we did.

My sympathies to the family. Bill was a man with interests in so many things and so proud of his time in the military.  His brother Randy Jess, Pillsbury, ND and sister Cleo Miller of Fargo, ND have told me so many great stories about him. It was my pleasure to know him.

Bill liked to fish trout in Rocky Run....He was a good guy.

Bill was a very cherished member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Proctor.He was responsible for many of the photographs of all the important events here and we will miss his kindness. May he rest in eternal peace. Our prayers are with your family at this difficult time!-from Immanuel Lutheran.

Your father was such an important part of the honor guard.  I enjoyed my time talking to him at the funerals we presided over.  He will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and in the coming year ahead.

Bill and I spent hours talking about photography, Proctor sports, and just about everything else at the Legion in West Duluth.  I went to visit him while he was in Woodland and I enjoyed our conversation that afternoon.  I will miss my friend and I would like to say to his family that he thought a great deal about you!  RIP Bill.

My heart goes out to Billy, Kelly and their families. I thought a lot of Bill. He was a good man. He taught Josh some photography and even gave him a camera. My heart goes out to his family, I will be praying for you all at this sad time.

Uncle Bill...I spent a ton of time at your house with Kelly, you were always so patient,  sweet and kind to me.   We spent hours and hours on the dock at Aunties cabin fishing.   And taking kelly and I to the Clip Joint to get penny candy.    That was so cool...you gave us each a whole quarter (40 years ago!)  And going to visit  Auntie. ..Doughnuts!   I will truly miss you, God bless Uncle Bill!
