Obituario de Ali Hoshizaki
EN EL CUIDADO DE

First Memorial Funeral Services

Ali Hoshizaki passed away on November 13, 2025 in her home at Arbutus Ridge, Cobble Hill, BC. She was with her husband, Brian; 5 grandchildren: Mitchell, Brynn, Nicole, Tye and Megan; her daughter, Kim (Dean); and daughter-in-law, Kathy. Ali celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary in May of this year and her 81st birthday on August 15th.

Ali was an amazing artist. She worked as a floral designer for over 20 years, but her artistic talent wasn’t limited to floral design. She painted in oil and watercolor, drew pen and ink, did embroidery, dabbled in interior design and her latest passion was quilting. She created many beautiful quilts for her family and friends always considering patterns and colors they would enjoy.

Ali also had a passion for knowledge. She attended Okanagan college and took many courses in psychology and sociology and also completed her travel agent’s certificate. She played many games, including computer solitaire, mahjong, card and board games, but was a true master of scrabble. She defeated her granddaughters, her daughter and daughter-in-law countless times, but would never gloat. Ali’s love for books was a true constant. Most of her life she suffered from chronic and debilitating pain and spent many hours reading. Although her favorite read was a good murder mystery, she would read almost anything and everything.

She enjoyed spending her summers at the Shuswap lake house watching her grandchildren grow. Every hot dog roast, recorded and watched Blue Jays games, and family jokes will be cherished by them forever.

Ali was an incredibly strong, loving, caring, and generous person. Though her family will miss her deeply, she will join her son Ross on a new journey.

Ali believed that children will make the world a better place. In lieu of flowers she wanted donations made to children’s charities (Children’s hospital, Smile program or a Children’s Charity of your choice).
