It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brenda Jean McLeod (nee Roozendaal) announces her passing following a lengthily and courageous battle with cancer. Brenda passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Duncan on April 2, 2023 at the age of 61 years old.
Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her Husband Greg of 30 years, daughter Sarah, son Shane, sister Annie (Wayne), niece Jackie (Bas), and beloved dog Jaffy. As well as family members Marilyn and Maria, and many special cousins and their families that are so important to Brenda. She will also be dearly missed by her best friends Ev (Al), Michelle and many other special friendships she made along her life’s journey.
Brenda was predeceased by her mother Helen and father Jack.
Brenda was born and grew up in Duncan, with many fond memories with Annie and childhood buddies. She enjoyed many fun filled camping trips as a child with girl guides. She fell in love with Greg and they got married in 1992. Brenda was always up for having a great time whether it was camping or Halloween parties. She especially loved camping at Hornby Island with her family, and early morning beach walks. Brenda will always be remembered with love. Her kindness, love, and sense of humour were enough to make anyone incredibly fond of her.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses, and every other part of the Cowichan District Hospital staff for taking such great care of Brenda in her final days. We would also like to send special thanks to Brenda’s oncologist Dr. Vanessa Bernstein, and everyone involved in Brenda’s care while going to appointments at the BC Cancer Agency, Royal Jubilee, and Victoria General Hospitals.
Upon Brenda’s request there will be no service. Memorial Donations may be made in Brenda McLeod’s name to the BC Cancer Agency, or the Victoria Hospital Foundation.
