LORENA Madeline Hall (NEE CUSTEAD) March 30, 1926 – October 15, 2014
Lorena passed peacefully at Chemainus Health Care Facility, with her family by her side, predeceased in 2010 by her loving husband Howard Hall. Lorena was born in Airdrie, AB and graduated as an RN from the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. In 1949 Lorena and Howard were married and later lived in Edmonton, Lethbridge, Calgary, Kelowna and Lantzville.
She developed many long lasting friendships and will be fondly remembered by her friends and children, Valerie (Paul) and Bruce (Nola), her grandchildren, Nathan, Allie, Greg, Ainsley, and Lauren, as well as her great grandchildren, Cameron, Lucy, Cole, Lauryn, and Reid and other cherished family members. Lorena loved to cook and entertain her many guests, as well as gardening, playing the piano and travelling. She leaves us rich in memories.
A wonderful wife, an amazing mother, a gentle and loving person, Lorena will be forever remembered for her positive attitude and love of life. Lorena maintained lasting friendships with her many nursing classmates, attending annual reunions and celebrating their love for one another. Lorena had a rich and varied nursing career at Calgary General Hospital, the University of Calgary Health Centre and other private practices.
A special thank you to all of the staff at the Chemainus Health Care Facility for the outstanding care they provided. We are forever grateful.
Further to the family’s wishes, there will be no memorial Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.
Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, Duncan, BC.
