Betty Jo Burt Pulliam

Betty Jo Pulliam, 85, of Duncanville, Texas passed away on June 29, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Graveside service will be held at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, 14501 N. IH35, Pflugerville, Texas on July 6, 2016 at 1:00 pm. David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home of Duncanville Texas will be handling the arrangements. Betty Jo Burt was born in Austin, Texas on May 30, 1931 to Faye & Leonard Burt, Sr. She was a remarkable woman who lived through the Depression and raised her beloved baby sister, Mary. She married Kenneth C. Graham in 1948, moved to Grand Prairie, Texas and gave birth to her two beloved children, Mark and Janice. She was married to Kenneth for 28 years and nursed him in their home until his death in 1978. She married Chuck Pulliam in 1986 and they pursued her lifelong dream of living in the country at one with nature. She was married to Chuck for 28 years and nursed him in their home until his death in 2014. She became a Licensed Vocational Nurse at the age of 47. Her passion was caring for her pediatric patients at Methodist Hospital of Dallas where her own children were born. She was a nature lover all her life. She loved wild birds and feeding the white tailed deer in her own back yard in Marble Falls. She spent 25 years living in her Paradise in the Hill Country where she was born. She loved every sunrise and sunset on the river. Betty is survived by her beloved children Mark Graham and Janice Graham Peterman and husband, Micheal H. Peterman, step daughters, Cathy Moreau and husband, James Hight; Mary Lucas and husband, Greg Lucas; Maggie Ambrosino and husband, Tony Ambrosino. Step sons, Charles Pulliam, Jr. and Steve Pulliam and wife,Marji. Between her two beloved families, she had 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands Kenneth Graham and Charles Pulliam, Jr.; sisters Dorothy Nunn & Mary Gail Allen and brother, Leonard Burt, Jr. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her rambunctious laugh and her generosity to everyone she loved. We will miss her always.
