David Lynn Dennie began his riding career at the age of 17 years old. A man called Judge Bean in Arlington on Highway 157 had a horse track nearby and asked David to ride for him. Racing horses in Texas was not illegal, however, betting was. David was working in Colleyville and riding all over. He was making the money which he had never made before. He did this for two years on the back tracks. Then, he started leaving Texas. He was on the racing circuit where his stats began.
David was married twice and is survived by sons, John David Dennie and Sean Patrick Dennie; and four sisters, Diana Sue Campbell, Carolyn Ann Eades, Bobbie Jean Ramsey and Peggy Lee Gassaway.
